We treat that as the hard part. Verification is optional, and it is real: a document check plus a live camera challenge, held apart from the profile everyone else can see.

Identity verification, not a blue tick
Accounts can be verified against a government ID, so both sides know who they are dealing with before anyone agrees to turn up somewhere.

The camera step asks for a blink, a turn or a smile on the spot, and matches the face to the document. A photograph of a photograph does not pass.
